Maintenance

Maintaining Your ECOHEADS Showerheads

To get the most out of your ECOHEADS showerheads, there are a few maintenance routines we recommend. Many of these are similar to what you likely did to maintain your previous showerhead, but you’ll continue to get ECOHEADS level benefits with our recommendations.

ECOHEADS Silver Plate

Soak the silver plate in distilled white vinegar overnight once a month (+/- depending on your water quality) to eliminate any calcium build up that can cause random sprays. Scrub with an old toothbursh to clear any leftover sediment.

ECOHEADS Filter

The ECOHEADS filter should be cleaned once a month (+/- depending on your water quality) with an old toothbrush to clear out any sediment accumulated in the mesh. To locate the filter, unscrew the clear thread below the black tourmaline stones in the neck of the showerhead.

Troubleshooting

MY ECOHEAD sprays unevenly and occasionally sideways.

This is typically due to some build-up on the face plate. This can happen more frequently if your salon has particularly hard water, so regular maintenance at the basin will be essential.

1.      Unscrew the black plastic showerhead cover and take out the plate.

2.      Wash and scrub the plate – an old toothbrush works best.

3.      Reassemble

In case of lime scale build up, please see the recommended maintenance procedure.

My ECOHEADS leaks around the head.

First, make sure there is no product build up on the showerhead. If still persists:

1.      Unscrew the black plastic showerhead cover and wipe the metal plate with a dry towel.

2.      Wipe and reposition the rubber ring.

3.      Reassemble.

My ECOHEADS leaks around the middle part of the head.

First, make sure the black ring is screwed on tightly around the showerhead. If still leaking:

1.      Check if the middle big black rubber ring is intact.

2.      Make sure the filter casing is installed properly and does not interfere with the bottom part of the showerhead.

NOTE: If you are using the female fitting adapter, follow these additional steps:

1.      Make sure the adapter is installed correctly with both rubbers inside the thread connections.

2.      Check both hose and adapter are firmly screwed into the showerhead.

3.      Check the condition of the hose, looking for tears and cracks. For best results, use a metal hose or a rubber hose with a rotating screw top.

My ECOHEADS has weak water pressure.

Well, that’s the opposite of what should be happening! Something is definitely amuck, so follow these sense-checking items:

1.      Make sure the hose is not kinked.

2.      Check the filter – if it is dark brown, please clean the filter.

3.      Make sure the rubbers are positioned correctly in place and not restricting the water flow.

The inside of the showerhead is starting to turn brown.

Another water quality issue that ECOHEADS solves when the water hits the scalp, but you have to clean your ECOHEADS to keep it cleaning.

1.      First, check the filter. If it is dark brown, you’ll need to clean that to ensure it’s doing it’s job.

2.      Unscrew the black plastic showerhead cover, clean and wipe the inside of the showerhead with a clean towel.

3.      Reassemble.
